Strong Polish resistance to NAZI occupation during World War 2.
Armia Krajowa (Home Army)- Chief Polish Resistance group during World War 2 in Poland.
Many Polish resistance groups used the Kotwica ("anchor") symbol. The PW in the symbol was initially short for Pomscimy Wawer ("Avenge Wawer") and later Polska Walczaca ("Fighting Poland"), Wojsko Polskie ("Polish Army"), etc. This symbol is still used in the Polish military.



Still part of U.S. so called �Missile Defense Shield�
MIM-104 Patriot missile batteries deployed in Poland. The Patriot missile batteries are owned by the U.S. and operated by the U.S.
